eBay best match optimisation

I spent a lot of time researching and testing eBay to find out exactly what works and what doesn't.

Here are my results, no nonsense - how to optimise your eBay listings for the best match search.

1/ Postage
Getting your postage is right in your listing is VERY important for eBay best match optimisation

Be sure to;

1.Select the fastest delivery option
2.Dispatch time of 1 day
3.Select the "Get it fast" option if availible in your country
4.Don't overcharge for postage
5.Offer free postage if you can afford to

All of the above are very important for best match optimisation.

2/ Returns
State how long people have to return items
The longer the better, 28 days should be fine.

3/ Listing length
Put your listings up for the longest time availible, 30 days is ideal

4/ Authenticity
If your sell branded items make sure you say that they are "genuine" or "authentic"

5/ The Title and description
The most important part of best match optimisation is having a good title and description.
If you are selling pink trousers for example you need to feature the phrase "pink trousers"
in your title and description frequently.

Don't go over the top, if you add your keyword too frequently it will have a negative
effect on listing.

Add the keyword frequently but naturally.

6/ Pictures
The more pictures the better, use eBays hosting and not your own.

7/ Feedback and DSR
Keeping a good feedback score is a big help in  optimising for the best match search on eBay.
DSR (detailed seller ratings) are important to, these are the 5 star ratings people leave for
the quality of your products and service.

Keep all of your stars over 4.5 for great results.

8/ Price
Keep your prices competitive. This is not massively important but it will help.#

9/ Powerseller status
This does help but not as much as you might expect, you will still need to optimise even if
you are a powerseller.

10/ Quantity
The more you list up the better, big listings get good positions.
